Los Cachorros
Pienso que “Los cachorros” de Mario Vargas Llosa, es una obra totalmente válida, en cualquier tiempo y época. Podemos realizar un paralelo con nuestra sociedad actual: entre lo que significa la castración física propiamente y la castración social.
En la actualidad, muchos jóvenes padecen una situación similar de soledad, no encuentran una contención familiar y social, Desean un mundo mejor, pero no lo consiguen y se sienten frustrados, castrados en sus sueños y aspiraciones.
Como Educador y Director de Teatro, me interesa llegar a los jóvenes ya que es un público mayoritario al que es necesario atender, realizando obras con temáticas para jóvenes con los que se sientan identificados. Igualmente, me interesa ayudar a sensibilizar a los jóvenes y, al público en general, porque más que nunca, en estos tiempos en nuestro país y en nuestra sociedad, se hace urgente resaltar los valores como: la honestidad, la lealtad y, sobre todo la solidaridad, temas de gran importancia que se tratan en la obra.
La obra “Los cachorros” de Mario Vargas Llosa es muy musical, rítmica, ágil, amena, juvenil, pero a la vez fuerte e impactante.
Mario Vargas Llosa ha tomado de la realidad la castración a un bebe por un perro y creó una historia genial y conmovedora. La sitúa dentro de un grupo de amigos que viven en el “barrio” de Miraflores, en los años 50.
La obra no sólo trata de la castración física de Cuéllar, sino de la castración social que lo conduce a una destrucción mayor. La tragedia de “pichulita” Cuéllar va creciendo durante la obra hasta llegar a convertirse en algo insoportable e inmanejable.
Mario Benedetti observa cómo “las mordeduras del perro acabaron con su virilidad……. Pero son las dentelladas del prójimo las que acabaron con su vida”.

Today, I went to the beachfront with my children. I found a sea shell and gave
it to my 4 year old daughter and said «You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.»
She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit
crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back!
